Get Fit, Sleep Right

Your friend share many health and exercise trick with you for getting healthy. Talking these stuff encourage you to make lifestyle changes by taking the stairs and going for walks. But after changing your habits and exercising more, you don’t feel any different. Often, an overlooked factor in health and weight loss is sleep.

Sleep has been proven to play an important role in a body’s health. Studies have shown that the quantity and quality of your sleep is related to health problems such as weight gain, cardiovascular problems,

Did you know?

Receiving less than the recommended amount of sleep affects growth hormone secretion that is linked to obesity. The chance of weight gain increases as the amount of hormone secretion decreases.

- During the sleep cycle, blood pressure usually falls. With interrupted sleep, it affects the decline which can lead to hypertension and cardiovascular problems.

- Insufficient sleep can hinder the body’s ability to use insulin. This can lead to the onset of diabetes.

- Not only does sleep affect your overall health, but the reverse is true as well – an active lifestyle can help with a better night of sleep. Sleep and a healthy lifestyle go hand-in-hand for positive well-being.

To get the most out of your exercise’s effect on sleep, be sure to exercise at least three hours before bed. Cooler body temperatures help with sleep onset and it can take as long as 6 hours for your body temperature to drop after a workout. If you weren’t able to fit a rigorous exercise into your day, stretches or a few yoga exercises can help regulate breathing and relax your muscles before bed.

Sleep and exercise work together for a healthy body. A great night of sleep should be part of any exercise program. Get inspired to incorporate exercise into your daily routine with ideas from our Get Fit, Sleep Right Pinterest board.

Choosing Between Polyurethane Foam, Memory Foam and Latex Foam

We are the leading Mattress Company in India, We have all type of mattress as per the your need and requirement. We know that not a single person know every things, and for a common man he have no time to know about these thing. But when you are going to take a new Mattresses, then don't forget us. We guide you for choosing the Mattresses and aware you about all these thing about Mattresses. So Now just Scroll down to know more...!!!
Basically Mattresses are of three type-
  • Polyurethane Foam
  • Memory Foam
  • Latex Foam
 Polyurethane Foam
Polyurethane Foam is the most economical option when it comes to buying a mattress topper. Many people are familiar with "egg crate" toppers made from polyurethane foam Many mattress manufacturers themselves use polyurethane foam as the top layer of mattresses. They do this because it is cheap, not because it is good quality. There are several different varieties of polyurethane foam. It comes in a large variety of densities. Generally, a higher density polyurethane foam with be more durable and last longer, while low density polyurethane foam can give out in less than a year. While polyurethane foam can provide a certain softness and level of support, it will not provide the more pinpointed support of memory foam or latex foam.
Polyurethane foam alone is highly flammable. Because of this polyurethane foam used in bedding often contains fire retardants. There are some concerns about the safety of constant exposure to these fire retardants used in bedding. There are also concerns about hazardous chemicals which are released into the environment during the manufacturing process of latex foam.
Memory Foam
Memory is polyurethane foam, but contains extra chemicals which if it is signature "slow moving" feel. Memory foam seems very "cool". It moves slow to absorb pressure. It holds your hand print for a few seconds, leading to great pictures. It was developed by NASA (less mentioned is the fact that although NASA developed memory foam, they never used for any significant purpose). Memory foam is generally more dense than regular polyurethane foam. It also costs more than regular polyurethane foam. Memory foam does provide much more pinpointed support than polyurethane foam.
As with polyurethane foam, densities can vary greatly. In general a higher density memory foam will signify a higher quality and more durable memory foam. There is a lot of very cheap memory foam sold online. While this foam may seem fine for a few months after purchase, it will very quickly go bad. Even good quality memory foam has problems. We constantly talk to people who have a memory foam bed but can not stand the sinking caving it feeling they experience on it. Another issue with memory foam is that it can get very hot. Even newer versions of memory foam which claim to stay cool, do not compare with latex foam.
The same concerns about fire retardants used in polyurethane foam are valid when it comes to memory foam. The manufacturing process of memory foam also emits the same hazardous chemicals that are released during polyurethane foam production.
Latex Foam
Latex foam is probably the most costly of the options on this page, but still the best value when considering only the durability. Latex mattress toppers will long outlast memory foam and polyurethane foam mattress toppers several times over. While a latex mattress toppers may be more costly upfront, in the end it will likely be least expensive choice. Consider that it will provide a superior sleep experience in the mean time and the choice becomes a no-brainer. Latex foam provides the same, if not more exact, pinpointed support of memory foam but with instant reaction to your every move. This means every time you move at night, a latex foam mattress topper will instantly adjust to your new position and your sleep will not be interrupted. Latex foam is made from a much cleaner and less energy intense process which does not release the harmful chemicals released in polyurethane foam production. Our 100% natural latex toppers are Okeo-Tex certified to be free of harmful substances.

Tips For Buying New Mattresses

You are going to Buy a new Mattress, We give the tips and idea to buy your Mattress, define our Mattress Properties -
  • Research online before going shopping. Try these two helpful resources that provide information but don't sell mattresses: kingkoil.in and Sleeepzone.in
  • Talk to your doctor. If you have a health condition, talk to your doctor or physical therapist about what he or she recommends. Keep in mind that doctors are not sleep experts, but they know your medical condition and symptoms and will probably have some good advice from that point of view.
  • Know that firm mattresses aren't always better for your back. Think twice before buying a hard or firm mattress, as research has shown that the best mattress for low back pain is a medium firm mattress rather than a firm mattress. There is a difference between firm support and firm feel. You want firm support with a comfortable feel. Comfort will be determined by your personal preference.
  • Pillow tops aren't for everyone. Very light-weight people don't need big thick pillow top mattresses because they don't weigh enough to compress the foam to even touch the underlying coils/support system. On the flip side, larger/heavier people tend to feel more comfortable with a little extra cushion between them and the coils.
  • Adjustable beds are a great option. If you find you are more comfortable sitting in a recliner than lying down, try an adjustable bed. They allow you to elevate your head and knees slightly to relieve pressure on the lower back. You can also create the same effect using pillows.
  • Ask about money-back guarantees. If you think you'll like a memory foam mattress but aren't quite sure, try the Tempurpedic brand as they typically offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you don't like it within the first 30 days, you're probably not going to change your mind, so send it back.
  • Ask about comfort guarantees before you buy. Many states still allow retailers to give what's called a comfort guarantee . Ask for it before you buy, and be sure you understand the details, such as whether you're required to pay shipping, if it includes a money-back guarantee or exchange, if you must return the mattress within a certain time frame, etc.
  • Check the warranty. A good mattress will have a minimum of a 10 year full replacement or non-prorated warranty.
  • Protect your investment. Always get some kind of waterproof mattress protector. Stains will void your warranty.
  • Take the mattress for a test drive. When shopping for a mattress, try to lie on the mattress in the store for at least 10 to 15 minutes. Don't feel self -conscious or let the salesperson hurry you along. It's a big purchase, and if you don't try it for at least 10 minutes you're not going to get a real feel for it.
  • Check out all the options and variations. Give yourself a comfort test if the sales person doesn't offer you one. Ask to try a firm, a plush, and a pillow top in the same brand quality and price point. Lay on each one for 10-15 minutes. When you find the most comfortable type of mattress, ask to see more of that kind.
  • Shop at a store that specializes in mattresses. The sales people at a mattress specialty store usually have more training on the whole subject of sleep. Try to find our store or order online through our website that carries several major brands, such as Sealy, Serta, Simmons, and Tempurpedic.

Sleeping Aids: understanding them better

buy mattress for sound sleep
It is close to midnight and the whole wide world seems to be fast asleep, except you.  While your tired body is telling you to go to sleep, somehow your brain just refuses to give up its hold on consciousness even as you toss and turn on the mattress. Sleep can be an elusive creature and deficiency can result in fatigue and frustration for any normal human being. The promise of a restless night spent on the mattress is sure to mess up your productivity the next morning, and still you seem powerless to combat this sleep deprivation.
Many pitfalls in a person’s health arising from sleep deprivation have been well documented with numerous sociological studies. Lack of sleep can affect your health and the quality of your life and it is best to correct this malady. To this end, some people who suffer from insufficient sleep, due to medical reasons or those rising due to lifestyle choices, may choose to use sleeping aids to get a good night’s rest. Here we take a look at some of these natural and not so natural sleeping aids that people may use and see what works best.
Meditation is a form of relaxation that can act like a natural sleeping aid. When a person meditates a few minutes before getting into bed, he helps to signal to the body that it is now time to transit into a mode of physical relaxation. The mind is stilled of any recurrent thoughts that may be running through it and the person calms down. There can be some confusion regarding the type of meditation that needs to be done, but the easiest one to follow is to simply be physically still and drain your mind of all thoughts. It is simpler said than done and it will take a fair amount of practice to reach the stage where when you meditate your mind stays blank. Even if you cannot empty all thoughts from your head, going through the process of meditation will make it easier for you to relax into sleep.
Herbal Remedies are a well touted cure for insomnia with an entire segment of the health industry based on them. There are claims that some products simply help you drop off to sleep the minute you hit the mattress. Herbal tea infused with chamomile is said to be great for insomnia. Others claim that a combination of ginseng, hops and lemon juice is the ultimate remedy for sleep deficiency. Studies have even supported the fact that herbs and foods rich in vitamin B3 are said to enhance a feeling of drowsiness once consumed. Ingesting these herbs with dinner could aid your sleep quality. Bananas, milk and turkey carry L-tryptophan to the digestive system which is again credited with causing sleepiness. Dieticians have also claimed that magnesium rich foods also work well as sleeping aids, although you could just pop a magnesium supplement. There is also the personal element in play as not all foods make everyone sleepy. You need to pay attention to what you eat to know which herbs and foods make you sleep well.
Alternative Therapies such as acupressure and acupuncture have shown good results as sleeping aids. Clinical trials of acupuncture have proved beneficial to people suffering from insomnia. While sticking needles in the body may not be the ideal manner in which you can relax, you may have no objection to pressing down some pressure points in the body before you hit the bed. Another alternative therapy that seems to have a positive effect on sleep is Tai Chi. The exercise form has proved to be a good sleeping aid in several studies conducted worldwide. Even if you do not know Tai Chi getting some moderate exercise in your day for half an hour seems to enhance your sleep quality.
The methods mentioned so far are natural ways to counter sleeplessness. They do not have any adverse effect on the human body if they are practiced or if they are suddenly stopped. The same cannot be said about medication. There are two different types of sleeping pills based on the effect they have on the body. The first help you fall asleep faster, while the second help you to stay asleep longer. Unfortunately these can be habit forming for a hypochondriac and can have terrible side effects even for a casual user. Read on to learn more about these not so natural sleeping aids. we can consider mattress as sleeping aids. so rush to buy mattress for a healthy life. Sleeping is a concerned part of our healthy body. you can buy mattress online too.
Over the Counter Sleeping Pills are the most recommended sleeping aid from the chronic insomniac’s view point. You need to understand these before you begin popping over the counter sleep medication. One of the most common ingredients in such sleeping aids is melatonin. Melatonin is a hormone generated by the pineal gland. It helps in the regulation of the circadian rhythm and this affects the sleep cycle intimately. It is being currently studied as a potential treatment for sleep rhythm disorders and is said to be helpful to those who are suffering from jet lag. Supplements can help ease you into a good night’s sleep.
Prescription sleeping pills are a totally different game. If you have a defined sleep disorder and have been to see a doctor he will have put you on a course of prescription sleeping pills which are also called sedative hypnotics. These include benzodiazepines and barbiturates. These pills may allow you to sleep instantly but they do not solve the underlying problem. Very often they can cause addiction and their own brand of trouble. Not all medicines are safe at all times and pregnant women have to be especially careful about what pills they pop. Sleeping well can become a problem in the third trimester and if it does the pregnant woman needs to ensure that she gets prescribed medication from her doctor to avoid any unpleasant side effects.  People with liver problems and heart disease also need to be careful when using sleeping pills and must stick to the prescribed limit to avoid complications.

How the Stages of Sleep Affect Your Health

Getting a good night’s sleep is important for your health. This is no old wives tale any more but proved fact, courtesy of scientific research. It is now widely believed by the scientific community that a disturbance in your sleep can result in lower performance levels the next day. Let us examine how they reached this conclusion. There are broadly two theories about why we need to sleep. The first is known as the Evolution Theory and the second one is called the Restoration Theory.
Sleep Theories
The evolution theory suggests that the period of sleep at night helps us to conserve energy which helped in enhancing survival strategies.  The larger the animal the slower its metabolic rate tends to be. Humans can slow down their metabolic rate even more when they sleep at night. The Evolution theory also suggests that to being asleep at night we are less likely to be hurt during the dark hours when it may have made a difference to our very survival in the prehistoric days.
As per the restoration theory, the nightly sleep period is useful for the body’s self healing abilities. While we are asleep the body tends to repair any damage that may have occurred to the body during the day. This has also been supported by scientific evidence which shows that a hurt will heal faster when the person gets a good night’s sleep.  Results of research conducted by Ian Oswald in 1966 in England shows that lack of sleep can significantly affect the health of a person.
What are the different stages of sleep?
While the purpose of sleep can still be debated in many myriad ways, the researchers do agree that the stages of sleep are fairly consistent. The primary problem with measuring sleep for the researchers was what should be measured? As technology advanced and brain waves were finally measured in different terms, it became easier to measure sleep patterns as well.  Essentially these brain waves are composed four types of brain waves, referred to as, alpha, beta delta, and theta. These four brain waves make up the Electroencephalogram (EEG). There are five distinctive stages of sleep that a person is expected to go through at night. These are distinguished by the type of electric activity seen in the brain during these stages. Beta waves are observed when a person is awake.
The first stage is a very light sleep in which Alpha and Theta brain waves are seen. Stage two sees the emergence of Sleep Spindles, which are essentially rapid, rhythmic activity measured on the graph. In stage three Delta waves emerge taking the person from light to deep sleep. Stage four is deep sleep period with Delta waves dominant. In stage five REM or Rapid Eye Movement accompanied by frenzied brain activity is seen. This is the stage of dreams. It is not necessary that each individual will follow all five stages of sleep in the give order, however this is what has been observed on average by the researchers and is taken as a standard description of the different stages of sleep.
What does sleep deprivation do to you?
Now that we know what the stages of sleep are let us consider what happens if we are deprived of these stages of sleep. If a person is woken up before he can transition from stage one to stage two, he wakes up feeling irritated, tired and frustrated. This is because to feel fresh you need to complete your deep sleep in stage four. It was also found by researchers that REM sleep was needed in order to refresh the brain processes while Non REM or NREM sleep was needed to replenish the tiredness felt by the physical body. Babies were found to spend more time in REM sleep because they have greater need of brain development than body rest.
If a person was not allowed to complete his stage four sleep he was likely to be unable to do complicated cognitive tasks, while a person who was not allowed to complete his fifth stage was unable to peak at physical performance tests. This means that while your deep sleep to refresh yourself is important, it is equally important to have passed that stage and moved on to having dreams for a really good night’s rest. If you are unable to get a full night’s rest for a long period of time, you do not need to sleep for an equal number of nights peacefully to get over the ill effects. You can catch up on lost sleep in a relatively less time than the number of hours you have been deprived of sleep.
Preventing sleep deprivation
In order to function well you need to be able to sleep at night and complete all five stages. To do so you need to ensure that you are not disturbed while you lie in a comfortable bed and are habituated to sleeping at a certain time each night. Try and stick to a routine where by your body prepares itself for a restful night’s sleep as a matter of habit. Involve a few customs such as listening to soft music and unwinding with stretches to relax your body, in your night time routine.
These activities will signal to the brain that your body is ready to rest and be refreshed by sleep. It may help to follow this bed time routine, especially if you travel a lot and tend to sleep in a lot of different hotel beds. That way even though you are not in your own home and bed, the brain registers that you are still in a comfortable and secure area and can get a good night’s sleep. The alternative of being sleep deprived the whole of the next day is definitely not an attractive one.

Nocturnal Sleep Related Eating Disorder

Sleeping While You Eat
Some times we have all experienced being so tired and we just wanted to sleep. We don't mind that i am hungry or thirsty, the only matters is that soft mattress on which one, we going to lie down and sleep is Softly and we  go on the lap of Mattress and Dreamed . For some people sleep means just lying down and resting. For others the need to feed themselves can manifest in sleep as well. The next thing you know when you wake up feeling refreshed is that you are not hungry. Why is that? That’s because you got up while you were still sleeping and ate something. Does that sound scary to you? It should, but it is not something very serious. In fact it is a medically documented condition known as NS-RED.
What is NS-RED?
Do you seem to be gaining weight but don’t have any recollection of eating more than you should? Maybe you are eating when you are sleeping. If you think that’s crazy, don’t dismiss it off hand. It turns out that there are documented cases of people suffering from this disorder where they tend to get out of bed when they are sleep walking and eat stuff that’s lying around the kitchen and other places. In scientific parlay it is called NS-RED which means Nocturnal Sleep Related Eating Disorder. This may be the reason why you are gaining weight and are unaware of the reason. NS- RED is considered a Somnambulistic eating disorder which is a combination of a parasomnia and an eating disorder. People who are supposed to be dieting are particularly prone to it as they have a subconscious desire to eat more food. They manage to fulfill this desire by their nocturnal wandering and snacking.
Who discovered this disorder?
John W. Winkelman was an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School who first pointed out the existence of this somnambulistic eating disorder. He was also the Medical Director of the Sleep Health Center of Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. Dr. Winkelman described NS-RED as the fulfilling of desired of the conscious mind in a state of sleepwalking. The word somnambulism is related to the condition of sleep walking and disorders that occur when the person is asleep are referred to with this prefix. That is why it is called a somnambulistic eating disorder.
What happens when you suffer from this sleep disorder?
While it involves eating, NS-RED is thought of as a sleep disorder more than an eating disorder. If you are suffering from this disorder there is a likelihood of you eating in bed, or roaming through the house and finding things to eat, a few people have even been known to prowl in their kitchens and rustle up something to eat. The food eaten also usually tends to be high fat and high sugar in content. It may be comfort food or some weird food combination such as raw bacon smeared with mayonnaise or hotdogs dipped in peanut butter.  Some people have also been known to eat non food items as in one case a person sliced up soap the way one would slice cheese and ate that. The main symptoms of the episode is known though you move out of bed, eat something and go back to sleep, you are unaware that you are performing these actions. For a patient of NS-RED there are no clear memories of the previous night’s activities the next morning. There may be some fragmented memories in the subconscious that you may imagine to be dreams when you wake up.
Reacting to NS-RED
In most cases people who live alone do not discover their night time actions, however when you live with a family you may be informed of your actions by other family members. In this case there is some amount of denial from the patient before proof is brought and then there may be embarrassment. There is sincere disbelief in the minds of the patients that they would have such severe loss of control. Some people may even think that they are losing their sanity. The truth is that they have partially awake brains, enough to do the actions but not enough to remember these actions later.
Who gets NS- RED
It's not a very common ailment and only 3% of the general population is known to suffer from this disorder. There is no fixed frequency of the nightly episodes either. In some cases it may happen once or twice and then just seize to occur. In other cases the nightly wanderings for eating stuff may become a chronic disorder. This could be dangerous as the patient is likely to end up eating something that may be physically harmful to them or toxic in nature. Most of the people who suffer from NS-RED are generally stressed out and anxious about their lack of control in the night. Some of them also happen to have a history of alcoholism, drug abuse or other addictions. This added concern may give them depression and cause weight gain due to nocturnal eating. A large percentage of people who suffer from NS-RED also tend to suffer from other sleep disorders like restless legs, sleep walking in general and sleep apnea.
Can it be treated?
Some people may feel that taking sleeping pills may help sleep more soundly. This does not hold true, instead it can make things worse due to additional confusion and more clumsiness in the drowsy limbs. A person can hurt himself badly due to sleeping pills when he suffers from NS-RED. Instead it would be better to consult a doctor and begin the formal treatment with a clinical interview. Sleep may be monitored at a sleep disorder study center to confirm what brain activity is occurring during these episodes. Then appropriate medication is prescribed. In most cases these medical interventions are useful. It also helps if the person can reduce anxiety and stress in life through counseling and stress management courses. It is combination of these two that helps to treat NS-RED.

How Your Mattress Affects Your Sleep And Health...????

You wouldn't run a marathon or hike a mountain without the right gear. And yet, despite spending a third of our lives sleeping, many of us haven't adequately prepared in the bedroom -- when it comes to mattresses, that is.
Not that we don't recognize the importance of a comfy mattress. In a 2011 poll, the National Sleep Foundation found that 92 percent of people say a comfortable mattress is important to a good night's sleep.
You might be tempted to blame your budget for continuing to doze on a less-than-ideal mattress, but considering just a little bit more shut-eye can help you lose weight, improve your memory and live longer, can you really put a price tag on good sleep?
But the wrong mattress -- or the mattress that's simply too old -- can be the cause of more than that crick in your neck or your low back pain. Here are five sneakier ways your mattress affects your sleep -- and your health.
Buying A New Mattress Might Zap Your Stress
In a small 2009 study, 59 healthy men and women slept for 28 consecutive nights on their regular mattresses, then another 28 nights on new, medium-firm mattresses. They were asked to evaluate their stress levels based on factors like worrying, racing thoughts, nervousness, irritability, headaches, trembling and more. The new beds resulted in "a significant decrease in stress," according to the study, possibly because of the related increase in sleep quality and decrease in pain associated with the firmer setup.
You May Be Allergic To Your Mattress

Well, to the dust mites calling it home, at least. The microscopic creatures feed on the dead skin cells you shed naturally, a whole host of which are found in and on your bed. As many as 20 million Americans are allergic to the buggers, according to WebMD, and they're especially problematic for people with asthma, CNN reported.
Washing sheets and pillowcases frequently in hot water can help rid your linens of dust mites. And a slipcover labeled "allergy-proof" can help keep them from traveling from the mattress to your sheets and pillows going forward. If dust mites are a problem, clean the actual mattress with a vacuum, according to the Better Sleep Council.
"Medium-Firm" Is A Subjective Label

There's no standardized definition of what makes a mattress soft and what makes a mattress firm. "A 250-pound person may describe a mattress as soft while a 125-pound person may describe the same mattress as firm," Robert Oexman, D.C., director of the Sleep to Live Institute, wrote in a 2012 HuffPost blog. Terms like "ultra-plush" sound appealing, but you'll really only know what's plush if you spend some time horizontal. There's also little evidence to prove a firm or a soft mattress is better for your sleep -- it just about all comes down to comfort. So make sure you spend at least 20 minutes "test-driving" a mattress before making a purchase.
Tossing And Turning Could Be A Sign It's Time For A New One

A hole with stuffing streaming out or a spring sticking into the small of your back are obvious signs it's time to replace your mattress. But they're not the only reasons to head to the store. If you're simply not sleeping as well as you used to at home, it might be time to make an investment, especially if you find you sleep better away from home, USA Today reported.
Using Your Mattress As Your Home Office Can Keep You Up

Experts agree that the bedroom should be reserved for sleep and sex -- otherwise, your brain can start to expect to answer work emails when you hit the hay, making it increasingly difficult to fall asleep. Electronics definitely don't belong with you on your mattress; the blue light they emit is particularly disruptive to the brain's natural bedtime mechanism and can you up longer.
